In the summer of 2012 a group of dedicated visionaries from across the Eastern Kentucky region met in Paintsville to form a group focused on the performing arts and education of the area’s talented people. After much discussion and with the support of the Paintsville Main Street Program, the group organized a new non-profit theatre company known as Main Street Players.
This new regional avenue for the performing arts is purposed with the task of being a community theatre for all of Eastern Kentucky. We have been given a home at the Historic SIPP Theater in downtown Paintsville. This venue will allow Main Street Players to perform year around and serve as a central location for our educational efforts.
Since our inception, Main Street Players has produced great shows like: Annie Jr., Seussical The Musical , The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy in Wonderland, Clue: The Musical, and many more . We have become a community partner participating in local events, fairs and festivals. Through our educational efforts we have hosted theatre workshops, held a summer theatre camp each year, and provided a great theatre experience to more than 5,000 children across the region. This community theatre has become an outlet for the many talented people throughout the area to display their abilities.

Pageants and dance competitions has long been the life of this mother of two daughters. Kristy comes to theatre with extensive knowledge of hair, make-up, and costumes. When her daughter, Paige became involved with theatre, Kristy found herself in the middle of it all and she has not looked back. She is well traveled, always on the look out for a good yard sale, and usually has a grandchild in her arms.
